Early Years: 1999 to present

Aaron Funk started producing as Venetian Snares in 1999 with the track ‘Greg Hates Car Culture’ (History Of The Future 1999).  Funk released the first Venetian Snares album the same year, the collaboration with Stunt Rock entitled ‘Fuck Canada // Fuck America’ (CLFST 1999).

This was to prove the start of what has become a highly production career for Funk.  Since 1999 Funk has released no fewer than twenty albums, releasing three albums in 2005 alone.

Throughout his releases Funk has pursued an a caustic edged approach to Breakbeat, with tracks ranging from Breakcore / Hardcore Drum and Bass through to tough edged IDM Breaks.

In 2001 Funk signed to µ-Ziq’ Mike Paradinas’ Planet Mu label, releasing the album ‘Songs About My Cats' (Planet Mu 2001) in 2001. Funk has gone on to release more than a dozen albums on Planet Mu.

The album which brought Funk widest exposure was his Hungarian themed Drum and Bass / Classical Music tour de forceRossz Csillag Alatt Született’ (Planet Mu 2005).

Aaron Funk’s uncompromising style has won him friends and foes in equal measure.  Never one to seek the acceptance of the mass market, Funk’s prolific output is often aggressive but also innovative, testing the boundaries of Drum and Bass.
