Early Years: 2007 to present

James Murray started off releasing a couple of singles on part2 records in 2007, including ‘Going Nowhere Slow’ (part2 records 2007).

His slow, drifting Ambient style soon got the attention of influential French Ambient and Downtempo label Ultimae Records who subsequently signed Murray up.

Within a year Murray had released his first (and to date only) album ‘Where Edges Meet’ (Ultimae Records 2008).

Though Murray has released a few tracks since ‘Where Edges Meet’ - such ‘Eleven (Decades Mix)’ (Ultimae Records 2009) – his main focus has been producing an album for Anne Garner and setting up his own record label Slowcraft Records.

Murray is currently working on his second studio album.

James Murray’s music is intricately constructed and always steers well clear from the obvious.  Murray has found a welcoming home in Ultimae Records but his often Pure Ambient sound will never reach the same size of audiences of more accessible artists such as Carbon Based Lifeforms.

James Murray runs his own record label Slowcraft records and additionally plays multiple instruments.
