'A Forgotten Ritual'
(Ultimae Records 2008)
'Human'
(Ultimae Records 2008)

Early Years: 2001 to present

The first Hol Baumann success came in 2001 when ‘Benares’ was licensed to a compilation album.

A couple of further tracks followed but it wasn’t until the mid and late noughties that Hol Baumann began to gain momentum.

First came the live album ‘Live At Sonic’ (Sofa Manifesto 2006) followed two years later by the studio album ‘Human’ (Ultimae Records 2008).

Both albums revealed collections of complex and intricate soundscapes with brooding arrangements, dark broken beats and haunting melodies, as seen on tracks such as ‘Hours’ and ‘Breathe’.

The last Hol Baumann album release was the multi-artist album ‘Chillout. Evening Cocktail’ (RMG Records 2009).

As Hol Baumann, Olivier Orand has forged an innovative and often edgy path through the Downtempo and Ambient genres.  His creative use of diverse sounds and influences is anchored by a keen sense of melody that ensures his music is both experimental and accessible.

Besides the Hol Baumann project Olivier Orand has established a diverse professional creative career encompassing producing documentaries, theatre and movies.
