Indie Pop
Indie Pop was arguably the first true Alternative Music genre, having emerged out of the proto-Indie genres of College Rock, Post-Punk and Jangle Rock. Some trace Indie Pop's precise origins to the C86 Compilation Cassette released by seminal UK music magazine NME as a cover mount in 1986.
