Grunge

Grunge emerged in the late 1980’s, centred around Seattle’s rock music scene.  Grunge had its musical roots in Heavy Metal but its aesthetic origins in Indie Rock and Garage Rock.  Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’ album and its landmark single ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ propelled Grunge into the global consciousness.
