Alternative Rock

Alternative Rock is the most successful genre of Alternative Music. Having emerged out of the late-1980's wave of Indie Pop groups, Alternative Rock became absorbed by the mainstream in the late 1990's and in turn much of the genre became detached from its indie origins.
