Early Years: 2005 to present

Arne Schaffhausen and Wayan Rabe started producing deep and brooding Psy-Trance together in 2000 under the alias Midi Miliz.

The pair released numerous singles and three albums as Midi Miliz and still issue the current Midi Miliz release to this day, but it was their decision to start the Extrawelt side project in 2005 that was to give them their breakthrough.

Extrawelt found instant success with the groovy Techy, Progressive House slow builder ‘Soopertrack’ (Electrochoc Records 2005).

Building upon the success of ‘Soopertrack’ Extrawelt soon evolved their style towards Minimal Techno, such as on the track ‘Drehfehler’ (Kompass Musik 2006).

In 2006 they signed to Sven Vath’s influential Cocoon Recordings where they have released a number of singles and two studio albums.

Arne Schaffhausen and Wayan Rabe have found a success with Extrawelt which evaded them for years Psy-Trance producers, with a style that is en vogue but less distinctive that their Midi Miliz releases.
