Early Years: 2001 to present

Alexandre Scheffer underwent formal music training as a child, including attending the renowned Conservatoire of Chambéry, where he participated in the Jazz section.

After finishing his studies he started working in sound engineering and in 2001 he had his track ‘Keun Yung’ (Ultimae Records 2001) licensed to a compilation.

Further tracks were released and licensed to compilations over the next few years until Scheffer released the debut Cell studio album in 2005: ‘Phonic Peace’ (Indica Music 2005).  The album showcased Scheffer’s melodic, drifting Ambient sound.

A couple of live albums followed in 2007: ‘Live At Kumharas – Ibiza’ (Ultimae Records 2007) and ‘Live At Glade Festival 2005’ (Sofa Manifesto 2007).  Both of which included new previously unreleased tracks.

The latest Cell studio album was released in 2009 – ‘Hanging Masses’ (Ultimae Records 2009).

Scheffer currently works as a teacher, teaching sound engineering.

Alexandre Scheffer has been producing consistently high quality, trance-tinged Ambient music for a more than a decade yet hasn’t received the same sort of attention as similar artists such as Carbon Based Lifeforms and Vibrasphere.  Although not quite at the same creative level as those acts, his music certainly deserves greater attention than it currently gets.

Krzysztof Pretkiewicz was born in Poznan, Poland in 1984 and as a youngster was influenced by artists including Depeche Mode, Mike Oldfield and Jean Michel Jarre.
