Early Years: 2008 to present

Ashley Wallbridge started DJing as a young teenager and won a number of local DJ competitions using fake ID because he wasn’t old enough to enter them.
By the age of 21 he had signed a record deal and released his first single ‘My Blood’(Auryn Music 2008) featuring the vocalist Meighan Nealon who he continues to work with.  ‘My Blood’ combines hypnotic progressive riffs and basslines with ethereal vocals reminiscent of late 1990’s Renaissance releases.

Wallbridge has stuck with this distinctive sound, as seen on releases such as ‘I Believe’ (Lyon Echo 2008) and ‘Faces’ (Ava Recordings 2009), both featuring Meighan Nealon on vocals.  The latter track was co-produced with trance production legend and was released on Ava Recordings, an imprint of Armin van Buuren’s Armada music group.

The support of Armin van Buuren has proven invaluable for Wallbridge who has also remixed for the trance heavyweight.  Other top tier names that Wallbridge has remixed for include like Ferry Corsten and Markus Schulz.

Wallbridge is also an in-demand DJ, headlining events including the Sunrise Festival, Creamfields and van Buuren’s A State of Trance.  He is due to release his debut artist album in 2011.

In an age where mainstream DJs routinely define themselves as ‘progressive’ Ashley Wallbridge is one of the few whose productions are true to the heritage of the deep, understated progressive trance that the subgenre first evolved from in the mid 1990’s.

Ashley Wallbridge started DJing as a young teenager and used fake ID to enter and ultimately win a number of local DJ competitions he wasn’t old enough to enter.
